They have these really inconvenient and far away recycling centers in our town, but it is not practical. I think if we had something at our complex, people would be more apt to recycle. If I got it going at our complex, maybe others would follow…

My comunity doesn’t have a recycling program in place and I think it would be a great way to help the enviroment and get my kids interested in saving the Earth. I don’t know how to get a program started in our neighborhood. I see other neighborhoods where they set out special containers alongside of the garbage bags and then it is picked up. I would like to see that sort of program at work in my area, please give suggestions or previous expirience that has worked for your community!
I have always tried to be conscious of reuse and recycling, but never really do. I mostly reuse, trying to find many uses for containers and such. (That part is easly mostly because I paint a lot and use tin cans and such as water containers, or plastic plates as palates.
I do TRY to buy things with out a lot of excess packaging, and buy previously recycled items, I also compost table scraps…etc.
I am just disgusted with the amount of trash I send out…I do drink a lot of soda and that is a lot of what makes up the waste…When you take things to the recycling bin, what do you have to do to prepare them…wash? crush? rip labels?

I live in a condo, and we have trash bins, but nothing for recycling. I really want to start, and I do not know how to get one. Even if I can get one, will the trash people collect it? How do I know what to do with it? None of my neighbors know either.
